Climate Action has been working at the intersection of climate change policy, innovation and sustainable finance for the last 15 years. Our goal is to catalyse innovation and facilitate collaboration to accelerate the transition to a global green economy – to help achieve the aims of the Paris Agreement, align the global economy with the IPCC’s 1.5° report and meet the Sustainable Development Goals.
Based in London, but global in reach, we are an independent organisation that works in formal partnerships with multiple UN Agencies and key stakeholder groups to create and deliver high impact forums, digital content and the climateaction.org platform.
We understand the critical role of non-state actors in the transition to a net zero, just and sustainable world. That’s why our digital and live event platforms help forge tangible partnerships between business, government, finance, UN agencies and the NGO community, spotlighting effective business action, highlighting the power of green finance and showcasing innovative solutions to scale impact and deliver real change on the ground.
Climate Action’s founder and CEO, Nick Henry, passionately believes in business being a force for good and the crucial role of private sector innovation and leadership to deliver a just and sustainable world. After managing Sustainable Development International and the Aid and International Development Forum for 10 years, Nick co-founded Climate Action in 2007 in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme.
Originally conceived to facilitate collaboration between the private sector and Environment Ministers at the annual UN Environment Ministerial Meeting, Climate Action’s remit has grown – along with the climate emergency. Fast-forward 15 years, and we now run a whole series of global events and online platforms, in partnership with multiple organisations, to accelerate the global transition to a net zero, just and sustainable world. Added to this, at COP26 we launched the Climate Action Innovation Zone to provide a high impact event space for partner organisations wanting to drive collaboration and innovation at the annual COPs.
